San Carlos Christmas Tree Farm Couples Session – Jasmine and Grant

Couples, Outdoor December 16, 2018

We went to Coyote Point to take pictures and it was incredibly windy… so windy that my pictures from there are the opposite of good because of the blur, my choice of location/lighting was really bad, andddd the wind made for hair everywhere and clothes clinging.

I took pictures of Jasmine’s sister and her fiance as well! I realized I’m wearing my blue-light filtering glasses so I want to make sure I didn’t make the pictures too cold (although I already struggle with white balance whether I’m wearing that or not).

SO THEN I went with Jasmine and Grant to look at Christmas trees (really just to take pictures), which I’ve been wanting to do! And when you’re not terribly close to tree farms, there are tree lots!!! We went to the lot across Walgreens in San Carlos, and dang Jasmine and Grant are so cute together. I’m excited that Christmas is so soon!! I loved this!!!!!!!

Also at Coyote Point we were going to bring their dog (THE CUTEST DOG) and then when we got there we couldn’t bring him in, so next time I need to look up dog policies if there’s a dog… and also photography policies. Some places make you have a permit and I never want to get in trouble for that!

Here’s a photo I love of Jasmine from when we were at Coyote Point, but it was a struggle because I underexposed so much that when I bumped up the shadows there was some noise, and there wasn’t a lot of light to reflect off her face.

[…] So much fun and really good practice. I think I will have to keep coming back to these photos as I learn more about editing and keep re-editing them to put what I’ve learned into practice. I loved hanging out with these two and their siblings! […]

WELCOME TO THE BLOG!

I’m so glad you’re here! I hope you’re filled with joy as you look at pictures of strangers.

Last year I got to photograph a wedding ceremony by some pretty redwood trees, and this year I traded those for aspens. Clear creek inn and the town of Georgetown are so cute!!

Also, a champagne toast at the end of the ceremony is a great idea 💯

Now I will delete this app again, go into my editing cave, and see this beautiful inside and out couple on my screen every night! You can see some more previews in my story highlights

Congrats to Lindy, Zach, and their little girl!!! Congrats to Lindy, Zach, and their little girl!!! These two got married on Saturday in Georgetown, and the predicted all-day rain thankfully stayed away 🎉

I was delighted and honored that they moved their wedding from Kentucky to Colorado (where they live now) and asked me to photograph their nuptials. One of my favorite parts of weddings is seeing all the family and friends love on each other and the couple—Lindy and Zach’s community is amazing and I love that I got to meet them. I get to photograph the best people 💕and it’s clear from the way that people talk about these two that they are especially thoughtful, gracious, and welcoming.

For now here are a few horizontal photo previews!
