Alex and Dave got married in North Carolina earlier this year and then hosted a bigger wedding reception at their home in Denver!
You may remember them from their engagement photos at Cerebral Brewing and their house! Alex has such an eye for design and turning older things into incredible household decor. Check out her instagram!

It was so awesome to see people shower Alex & Dave with so much love. The couple opted to have a private ceremony in North Carolina and then host their wedding reception in their own backyard—the best of both worlds! They had always planned for that even pre-pandemic.
Alex is so thoughtful about details, and that’s evidenced by how carefully she put all the elements together. She collected this furniture herself! Keep scrolling for inspiration for your own party or reception ;). There are so many ways to make your party personal and FUN.
They had a caricature artist!! How fun!
And a PIZZA FOOD TRUCK! That is what dreams are made of. This is basically all my dream wedding reception.
The lounge setups were amazing, especially at night when the string lights were glowing above. I love how they had several different spots for people to relax and hang out with others.
I will always be a fan of instax guestbooks! I wish we had done that for our wedding!
This spot was probably my favorite! They ordered that sign from Saturday Neon, and Alex DIY’d the flowers herself!
They had custom fortune cookies made as well! Their cat’s name is Soy.
Soy even got dressed up in a bowtie for the special occasion! I’m so happy they printed out their beautiful wedding photos from Live View Studios—this is your reminder to print photos and not just keep them on your phone or computer! 🙂
They also had cats from Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue! Cats, caricatures, pizza, cornhole, ice cream, neon signs, fortune cookies… this is how you throw a wedding reception—make it personal and fun!
We even got to listen to Dave play bluegrass with his friends at the end of the night! What a treat.
Alex and Dave, congratulations! You throw the BEST parties!
