Last year, Karla and Brendan bought a new house and got a new puppy, so I’m glad I got the chance to photograph them in their new home in Oklahoma City for their second wedding anniversary!
Fun fact: I met Karla in 2nd grade! My mom has so many pictures of us as young kids, but I’ll spare you those photos. Karla has been looking out for me for the past 20+ years—from protecting me from her dogs (I was scared of dogs until I was 21) to decorating my locker to catching a horrible typo on my about page (it said I could eat 7 slices of people instead of pizza) to having dogs together and so many more things, I am so grateful for a friend like her!
Now let’s talk about this dream kitchen—the pictures Karla showed me before they bought the house were amazing, but in person it’s even more beautiful! I love how they’ve set everything up in the house.
I was so excited to meet Harvey, their mini Aussiedoodle, too! He is such a sweet boy who LOVES to play—Austin tried to keep him occupied while I took pictures of Karla and Brendan, but sometimes he had to be in the picture too. He reminds me a lot of our second dog Rascal, except Harvey is 100x more well behaved and doesn’t scream all the time.
This couch is a huge one by Sean and Catherine Lowe (I think)—you can move a giant ottoman into the center so that it becomes one giant pit of comfort! I sound like an ad and I don’t even have this couch myself.
Their front door is so cute—I love the window panes!
Karla and Brendan framed their vows above their bed! At our house, the last remaining wall decor I want to put up is something above our bed, so I’m thinking of copying them.
And this wall of photos and floating shelves! Karla is an interior designer so of course everything in her house is arranged in an amazing flowy way.
Happy national dog day!!
