Earlier this year, Taylor and Aaron wanted to commemorate their time in Colorado with photos right before they moved back to Illinois.
They opted for some mountain views, so we went to Mt. Falcon West on a weekday—one perk of long summer days is still having time/daylight to go to the foothills after work!
We threaded the needle of bad weather and a whole lot of smoke—this was one day where we didn’t have to deal with either. I remember one of the first sessions I ever did in California being so smoky that I wasn’t sure how to edit, but after living in both California and Colorado for a while, you get used to it. The haze creates a dreamy look, and you just tone down the orange from the sun if it’s too much :). This time though, it was perfect weather. I see why “Colorful Colorado” is a thing!
Taylor and Aaron brought their adorable dog Moose—if you look closely, you can see he has two different colored eyes!
I photographed at Mt. Falcon West earlier this year right after it had snowed, and I love both the winter and summer landscapes! The tall-ish grass is so beautiful here (be sure to watch for rattlesnakes though)—this is my favorite spot at Mt. Falcon, and I’m sure many other photographers agree.
Taylor’s red kimono goes so perfectly with the surroundings!
This view is so vast, and we were only in the foothills!
Taylor and Aaron, it was a huge blessing getting to know you for such a short time <3. You are beautiful inside and out and I love your little family. I hope you have the best time back with family in Illinois!
