Aimee was my freshman small group leader and then my post-college roommate, and I was SO HAPPY FOR HER when she got engaged recently!!!!
Shooting: I scoped out the place before they got there to see where I wanted to shoot. I thought I was fit but those hills were hard haha!!! Aimee was wearing heels so I didn’t want to make them walk but she wisely wore a pair of tennis shoes to walk up! And her dress was so freaking pretty so I tried to get pics of the sun shining through it when she pulled it to the side.
Toward the end of the shoot we lingered for a while waiting for the sun to set more so maybe next time I will start a little later! I love how the sun sets behind the hills to the west.
Editing: I need to stop underexposing by so much — I keep saying this and I KNOW this but shadows hold a lot of grain. Also, greens are hard — I’m realizing that I really love sandy areas/trails where people are on the brown/tan dirt. I thought the red dress was going to be difficult to edit but it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be! I like the pop of color.
I love locations with hills!!
Here are ones where I struggled with the green/white balance:
